Tax breaks for R&D encouraged this research centre to refresh the workplace. The budget was still tight but all areas were in need of attention, so the emphasis was on careful cost concious specifications throughout. A new build reception block was added, the very cellular labs and offices were transformed into large more flexible open plan work spaces, then a central hub of meeting rooms and breakout spaces, completed the scheme.
